Class Fee:
JCC Members - no charge. Non-members of the JCC must first purchase a group fitness class card in order to attend class. Class cards can be purchased online using a credit or debit card, or in person at the JCC Pincus/Grant Fitness Center front desk.

A ten-class fitness card costs $120.00. Cards purchased online will be held for pickup at the Fitness Center front desk.

Non-members must present the card to the Fitness Center desk attendant to enter the building.

Enter the church Education Wing from the parking accessible from Halstead Road. Classes are held in Room 29. Check the schedule listing for "Hatha Yoga" either inside the building entrance or by the first floor elevator.

Missed, prepaid classes may be made up either on Tuesday or Wednesday evening in Wilmington (Greenville or Arden class locations).

Recent experience with the practice of yoga is recommended (e.g. within the past year) but not necessary.

Fees are due the first week of class
for the entire month. Due to the small class size, class members commit to paying the entire month's fees, whether they are available to attend all classes within the month.

Missed, prepaid classes may be made up either on Monday or Wednesday evening in Wilmington (First Unitarian Church or Arden class locations).

Located to the left of and behind Newark Natural Foods, and across the alley from the Newark Arts Alliance. Look for the wide green awning with "Awareness Center" printed on it, and the custom wooden entrance door.

Class sessions generally run 7 - 10 weeks long between September through July. Classes missed in a session can be made up with another teacher during the same session.

Class Fee: Drop-in: $15 per class. Enrolled students $12.50 per class with a minimum purchase of 4 or more classes per term ($50 minimum). Make checks payable to The Awareness Center.

Class is held in room #3 of the Arden community center known as 'The Buzz'. The facility is located south of Harvey Road, between Marsh Road (DE SR 3) to the west, and I-95 to the east. Ample parking is available in front of the building. 'The Buzz' is diagonally across from the Arden Gild Hall and swimming pool. Look for directions to the Gild Hall when turning off Harvey Road.

Registration with the college for the Fall I session starting September 9, 2010 begins in August.


Course Descriptions:

Iyengar Yoga Level I (Beginning level) - suitable for people with little or no experience in the practice of yoga. Learn postures (asanas) to improve flexibility, strength, and balance. Yoga postures increase body/mind awareness, one's energy level, and help manage stress. This class may be repeated until students feel ready to attend the continuing level class.

Iyengar Yoga Level II (Continuing level) - suitable for students who have completed two Level I class series in the past year, or have at least 3 months experience practicing hatha yoga. The class will refine the material presented in the beginning course, and introduce students to advanced postures that include balancing, twisting, and upside down poses.

Classes run for two consecutive 6 week sessions from September through December, and for three 6-week sessions from January through May. Students may enroll for any session. They may register for a session up through the second week of class, at which time they must obtain permission of the instructor to enroll. Students must reenroll for the following session to continue with the class.

Fall I Session:
September 9 - October 14, 2010
Fall II Session: October 21 - December 2, 2010 (no class Thanksgiving Day)

Class Fees:
Payable to Cecil College; $75 per session (in-county resident rate), $85 per session (non-county, Maryland resident); $95 per session (non-Maryland resident).

Registration: Call 410-287-1078 to pay by credit card, or enroll in person at the Elkton Station campus front desk. Enrollment for each 6-week session will be accepted through the second week of class.

Payments to the Instructor

There are 3 classes in which fees are paid directly to the instructor; 1) Monday evening at the First Unitarian Church, 2) Tuesday evening at the private home in Greenville, and 3) Wednesday evening at the Buzz Ware Village Center in Arden, DE.

Payment policies:

First Unitarian Church - Students who expect to miss one or more classes in a month need only pay for the number of classes they plan to attend.

Greenville and Arden classes - Students pay for the entire month's classes, regardless of whether they can attend all classes that month or not.

Class Make Up Policy:

Class absences (whether planned or not) that have already been paid for can be made up at another class location in the Wilmington area through the following month.
