Robert Gadon

Robert began his practice of Iyengar yoga in 1997 at the Unity Woods Yoga Center in Washington, D.C. He has studied with experienced and talented yoga teachers from the United States and abroad, primarily in the Iyengar tradition. His principal teachers include Carolyn Bluemle of Takoma Park, MD, and Theresa Rowland of Madison, NJ. Robert is currently enrolled in a teacher training program at Studio Yoga in Madison, NJ under the direction of Ms. Rowland and maintains a mentoring relationship with Ms. Bluemle. He began teaching yoga classes in Wilmington, DE in 2004, and has taught students of all ages.

Yoga teaching represents a life change for Robert. For 17 years, he was employed as an occupational and environmental health professional with consulting firms, and manufacturing companies. Robert recently retired from 9 years of practice as a board certified industrial hygienist (CIH). He holds a B.S. in Natural Resources from The University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI and a M.S. in Occupational and Environmental Health from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI.

He is married to the
Reverend Barbara Hoag Gadon, a Unitarian Universalist minister presently serving the First Unitarian Church of Wilmington. They live in Wilmington in a 1923 house with high ceilings, wooden floors, and plaster walls that they are gradually restoring. They share a passion for good food (especially Robert’s pancakes), good books, and Scrabble.
